I drove it yesterday and all was fine. Today i was removing trim pieces to replace the radio. I know i had to shift it into low to remove the center console and it shifted into park for what i remember.
Now, it is parked and stuck in gear. It won't shift into park or reverse and i'm not exactly sure what gear it's in. I can put my foot on the brake and move the shifter through every gear. It does not shift into any other gear and the lights on the dash indicate it's in whatever gear the shifter position is in. I can see the shifter rod moving but it's not shifting to park.
What should i check? Could it be a sensor on the trans?
I wonder if shifting it into low stretched the cable or made it come loose from the trans. I'll have to check it out today. That is the only thing that makes sense. The car was not running when i put it into second to remove the center console plastic.
Found it......
it the cable at the lower left part of this diagram that also doesn't have a part number on it. It broke under the car right under the shifter.

Well at least you found it, the hydro system in the later years as well as the Auto seems to be more better designed than the older Auto design this may have been a faulty design on Hondas end.
I don't know how many options i have. 54315-sk7-984 has obviously been discontinued and i am still trying to find this out on the web somewhere. I tried atp automotive, but no dice there.
Crap, i'm running out of options.
54315-sk7-984 is not made any longer and none to be found in the country
napa altrom 0742918 same
I'm trying to find a used one next unless someone here has a source.
have you checked Rock Auto sport? I assume since there's no part number it was never available? but that cant be, Honda made replacement parts for every thing..
I did check with honda, acura, pep boys, auto zone, advance auto, napa, federated, o reilly, autopartswarehouse, rockauto, ebay, craigslist without success. there is a company out of canada that makes them for $180 shipped and they are 2-3 weeks out for production.
I'll have to take a picture of my temporary repair. I will have to say it was pretty genius. I didn't know how to describe it to the hardware store guy, but once he thought about it for a minute the light bulb went off.
