B18 idle/TPS problems
89 civic. Odb1 b18b1.
Was driving on highway today, car started getting sluggish and was running rough. Pulled over, at idle sounds like a misfire. Cleaned some oil out of spark plug tubes, thought this might be why. Didnt change, but was able to drive it home because at higher rpms it smoothed out.
Once home, still rough at idle. Completely cleaned spark plug tubes of oil/debris, inspected spark plugs and wires. Still running rough so i checked iacv, seems to not have any issues. Then checked TPS, if i recall correctly, it read 0.37 CT and 4.5ish WOT. So i then started adjusting the TPS. (Cut rivets, added screws, new TB gasket) Now, if i set WOT to 4.5V, CT reads 0.03V. If i set CT to 0.5V, WOT reads 4.91V.
I played around with the throttle position screw, and if i set it so that the tps values are 0.5V and 4.5V, the screw is pushing the throttle pulley too much, and the idle is over 2k rpms.
side note- the yellow power wire that should be 5V reads 5.31V.
anyone able to help? Is it acceptable to leave the WOT voltage at 4.91V?
