Slave cylinder 1990 Acura integra
Well i was wondering why it was hard to get my 1990 acura integra into gear without putting into other gears first it just woulnt go into first, and wasent going to force it because could damege somthing else seems like getting worse over time. so i looked online alot to see what the problem might be and everyone was having same probelm all they had to change was the slave cylinder. while i was trying to look for the part online only the 94s - 2000 slave cylinder part was there i wouldn't find anything for the 1990 i have i was wondering if the 90 dosnt have a slave cylinder but it just wouldn't make scence to me and if anyone would know what the problem might be let me know thank you.
ok thank you by any chance you know what my problem might be because my car i have to yously put it into 5th then 4th and so on before it will go into first, i thought it would be slave cylinder forsure was hoping so beacuse cheap fix but you have any ideas?
you mean cable driven meaning it just the clutch cable? or is it different dont know much just got car about 4 months ago

yes its a cable actuated transmission. that sounds more like an interior transmission issue. take it to a reputable transmission shop and have them diagnose it for you. you'll have to pay a bit but at least you'll know where to start and make a smarter decision as to what should be done.

6 years, since I bought the car. I didn't want to risk trying to adjust it and have the clutch slip. When I start the car, I put it in 1st or reverse before starting....like for backing out of the garage. By the time I get to my gate, it's warmed up.
I've put on 45k miles that way. It doesn't mean our cars are alike, but you may not have to do anything for some time. Let it warm up.

This was my next suggestion too, especially if you think it's getting worse. If you're doing that yourself, don't do it without tripods.
Inspect the cable too, for fraying....only the ends are visible.
