CR-V with TSX head???
Hey guys, I'm considering a head swap on my 3rd gen CR-V. I want a lil more hp/ tq... something simple. Btw I know very lil about the K-series, so feel free to give me your suggestions & advice. I do plan on using the TSX I/m & exhaust mani. I did use the compression calculator. An it says the c/r will be 11.6.
Should I use the TSX injectors & ecu?
What would be the difficult part of this swap?
What are the pro's & con's?
How much hp/ tq can this head swap produce?

About 200-205hp just like a TSX.
TSX header will probably not fit. Designed for a different chassis. CR-V header would would just fine.
TSX ECU will probably not work. They were the first of the CAN-BUS stuff and rather unique and also drive by wire. Would be difficult but not impossible to make work.
The electrical side is going to be the most difficult in getting all your gauges to work and cruise control to function and AC.

Ok, so I will keep my CR-V exhaust manifold and ECU.
How does vtec engage without a ecu?
Do I need a piggyback system?
Can I use a 08 TSX head? I see one in my area for a good price. 200 hp is more than enough for me for a daily driver.

Ok, I'll source out for a RSX ecu. I wasn't sure if it would plug-up to a 3rd gen CR-V. I guess it's worth a try.
I'm curious can I use a piggyback system (Greddy E-Manage)? I ask because emissions is also a concern. I'm also thinking a standalone system would be better.

Do Hondata K-Pro or Ktuner.
You really need to cross reference the ECU pinouts for the body side. See what lines up and what might not work. I am not certain that is going to be plug and play. AC and cruise may or may not work and gauge cluster. Do your research. Get your hands on the Electrical Trouble Shooting Manuals for all vehicles you are pulling parts from.
