Hi, hopefully some one can help. Live in South Africa. Purchased a 2003 2nd gen manual crv with faulty gauge cluster.
Turn signals work, Gauges, fuel, temp gauge, tach, speedometer, tripmeter dead.
I have obtained a 2006 cluster. The cluster differs where you have the smaller tach on left then bigger speedometer with small temp and fuel gauge on the right hand side.
The green and blue sockets fit but the pin positions differ.
I am unable on the web or locally, even from Honda to obtain a wiring diagram in order to repin the 2003 wiring to the correct pins in the 2006 cluster.
The local auto electricians and cluster repairers are unable to help.
I have viewed a number of civic cluster swops but wiring colours and pin placement differ.

Seems the Crv 06 cluster was just for that year. Clusters from 2007 onwards was different. a Pin configuration or wiring diagram for 2006 will br appreciated. Apparently civic and crv wiring is the same. Thanks

 

I don't have my manuals handy but I think the 05-06 CR-V went to a CAN bus for the cluster.

Not impossible to make work but also not plug in and go. Need to convert analog to CAN bus.

I had a look at the manuals, in the US market the 05-06 does not appear to be CAN bus. Good chance you can plug in the new cluster and everything will work.

The full crv 3 to crv 06 cluster wiring. The pins and wiring colour differ. Apparently the only major differences between a 03 and 06 crv are, drive by wire and the gauges. If anyone can identify the 06 coloured wiring it will help greatly. I am still unable to obtain a wiring diagram for the 06 locally or on internet. Thanks.

 

Still searching. Obtained a Heynes crv 03-06 manual but the 06 instrument gauge cluster electrical not shown. Honda SA not willing to help.

Thanks. They only cover American, Canadian models. I obtained a Honda Crv 06 electrical diagram but they do not match at all.
Looking for European, Japanese diagram.

 

In Europe the system we use is called MARIS.
similar to the honda info tech thing.
Run it on internet explorer and select MARIS 2.

To date I have even obtained the Haynes Honda Crv 2002-2006 workshop manual. It does not have the specific wiring diagram in. After contacting them they replied that for years they only include a general diagram and do not cover all models.

Well that's interesting stuff. I damaged the instrument cluster in my 2006 CRV by shorting out a light bulb connection in the heater controls and that burnt out the dash light driver that's living inside the instrument cluster. Anyways I'm going to get it repaired but in the meantime I just pulled the instrument cluster out of my 2002 parts CRV and it works fine however it doesn't have the warning light. I'm searching around right now to find a repair centre somewhere in Canada or the US that can fix this for me and can I check what I used one on cost me if I can find one because no 5 in 06 are the only ones that have the VSA light in this generation in North America.

Trying to find the wiring diagram with color codes for the 2006 but with no luck.

 

Also haven't been able to find any pin outs for the 06. If there's been any updates on this would really appreciate the info too! Doing the same thing but on a UK 2003 model.
