Icon5 Charge lamp weakly lighting or not lighting

On my 2005 CR-V the charge light either weakly flutters or does not light at all when it should. I've searched a bit on forum for post and as I am new to Honda and this site, I'm a bit confused, and kind of in a hurry to fix this. Battery stays charged. All wiring and terminals look good with no corrosion on this CA vehicle. I'm trying to understand the Honda ELD alternator. Does the wire from alternator send a ground or a 5 volt signal to ECU? Could this problem be in ECU?, Multiplex fuse box? Inside cluster? Or Alt. signal. Thanks for any advice.
