2002 Accord starts, dies. No codes. Please help.
Hi, new here, I have an 02 accord that shut off while in a drivethru unexpectedly and won't run. It will start almost every time but dies after a few seconds. If you touch the gas pedal it dies immediately. Now I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor, plugs and main fuel relay. I pulled the upper intake off and it was very dirty. I cleaned it and the IAC with intake cleaner. Nothing worked. I am stumped. There are no codes coming through OBD either.
If you come back, remember to check for good electrical connection all around. Battery cable corrosion at battery, and where it connects to the vehicle can get oxidized pretty bad. You should also check your alternator output (an auto parts store can do that) to make sure you don't have a power problem related to it. Did you work on anything on the Honda prior to this trouble. The biggest thing the trouble resembles is a vacuum leak. Read up on checking for those.
My car did this an i first checked main relay as this can cause this or it will just turn over an never crank. Found bad solder joints so just took the one out of parts car an it was fine. I also resoldered the old one put it back in an car runs fine now.
