My brother-in-law mentioned that a good friend of his was looking to offload his EM1 that has been sitting for 2 years after a minor fender bender. The guy didn't have the knowledge, patience or time to deal with it. So the car sat.
I asked what he wanted for it and he said $800! I jumped on it! It's a bone stock 2000 Milano Red EM1, with the original B16A2 and B16 transmission. Hooked a battery up to her and she started right away.
Damage so far, is as follows:
Front Bumper
Front Passenger Fender
Front Passenger Headlight
Radiator Core Support
Hood
Cold Air Intake
2 out of 4 Wheels
I already have a new fender, headlights and CAI for it. I'll end up tossing on a Seibon CF Hood and getting a bumper from the junk yard. Overall, I'd say I made out like a bandit. 😁👍
Looks like he did a respray of the engine bay, inside and out. Damn.
Good eye! He did have it resprayed and that's why she looks so good. I'll have to get some paint work done again obviously, but hopefully they can match it well.
Great find NoKz. Congratulations. I have a '00 Milano Red EM1 myself that I picked up to revive and flip. I must admit I didn't get as good of a deal as you did, but fair one I think. It has one wrinkled fender, but otherwise, the body is fairly straight. I have been collecting all genuine OE parts to get her back to stock... they seem to bring the most $$$ that way. I will have to do a bit of paint work myself. Good luck sir.

Cool deal man! Yeah, they're getting harder and harder to find. This is the first stock MR EM1 I've seen in person. You just don't see them. I'm also collecting OEM parts to get it back to Stock OEM look along with a few other parts to replace some wear and tear (tail lights, etc).

I originally was looking to gut it and track it. However, I recently found out that they made less EM1s than I thought and even less of them in Milano Red.
1999 (1/2 a year of production):
2500 MR
2500 FBP
5000 EBP
2000:
5000 MR
5000 FBP
10000 EBP
7,500 total in Milano Red. That has made me change my goals to instead preserve the car and try to keep it as original as possible. So, if I were you, I'd definitely start looking for one LOL.
Sorry for the lack of updated folks! The car is currently stored at my friend's house and it's been a hectic week. I went over yesterday so we could unload the car from the trailer and get it on jack stand's to further assess the damage. I'll post photos of that later. In the meantime, we took a look at the wheels to see if they were genuine Volks TE37's. And.....the verdict is.....THEY'RE REAL! Unfortunately, they're pretty damaged. However, I think 3 of the 4 are repairable. Does anyone here have experience with repairing wheels? Are these salvageable?

Before you dive too deep, that strut bar bend is something scary. What you might've acquired was the "parts car of the century." Don't waste time trying to repair that body if it's too bad. If you are going to repair it, find a reputable shop. I look at body work on cars like tattoos on the body...I don't go in asking about price, I'm here to see what type of work you do.

Thanks for the input, but, everything on the body is straight. There was zero frame damage and the only damage was to the following;
Hood
Front Bumper
Passenger Fender
Passenger Headlight
Lower Control Arm (Bent)
Upper Control Arm (Damaged Ball Joint)
Passenger Side Wheel
Every photo I've seen of the strut bar, shows that it naturally has an arch in it. The increased curvature on this strut bar was not caused by the accident. It looks like it was done to clear the suspension. Using a 72-inch level from shock tower to shock tower, everything came up even. So I'm not concerned by it at all.

I will get more photos of the vehicle today to show what is actually damaged. There is slight damage to the piece right before the shock tower, but it's thin metal. I'm going to have a local reputable body shop cut the damage piece off and replace it with one from a donor car. Despite that, the car is 100% repairable and will remain alignment hassle-free.
