97 civic tie rods

Default 97 civic tie rods

So I just replaced inner and out tie rides on the civic and it still drives like I never even changed them

how did you know they were worn? just driving feel or did you check them by hand?

Both, I checked them and then I had our mechanic at work check them. Driver side had about a 1/4 inch of play in it

the play was gone when you rechecked after install, consider checking the adjustment on the rack guide. also double check the universal joint/coupler between the steering column and the rack.

Yes the slack is gone, there is no play at all, so im thinking I need my tires balanced

also did you get an alignment afterwards ?

no I have not got an alignment yet, but the symptoms are a very bad vibration from 50 mph on up, then the other day when it was raining my car was acting like it was hydroplaning but there was not water puddling on the roads just wet
