Engine swapping my daily
Got a 2000 accord lx coupe 2.3l that i want to do an engine swap. Alot of people have told me most guys go with the H22a engine, but i dont know if thats a good engine to daily. Someone else mentioned thst i could buy the same eng i got and just rebuild it with preformance parts and a head swap but is it worth my dollar to do that? There is the v6 engine, but im not too down with that, more gas and it would be heavier. Any ideas or suggestions would be Gucchi guys
You have to dump a LOT of money into an F motor to get it anywhere near the performance of a bone stock H22. Unless you want to turbo the car, the F series doesn't offer much by way of making easy power. If you are looking for the best way to liven up the car for the money, an H22 or DOHC VTEC H23 motor (not the H23 from the Prelude), will be the best bang for your buck. It won't be stupid fast or anything, but an H motor with a matching transmission will definitely liven up the car very nicely. As far as what exactly will need to be done is dependent on your chassis, so research that (if the car is auto, you will probably want to do the 5-speed swap at the same time). And from there, there is plenty of options to go about building a nice H motor....just depends on how much you are willing to spend.
