Default 1997 Honda Accord

I have a 97 Accord. I jumped the wiring for the fuel pump going into the main relay to test it and now I'm getting no power to the main relay. It blew the fuel pump fuse. I replaced with a new one and still no power. Any ideas?

There are two relay coils inside the main relay that need to be energized for power to be allowed to the fuel pump.

Check for some of the following:
  • Blk ground wire from G101 needs to supply ground to main relay.
  • Under-hood Fuse No. 33 (ECU fuse) needs to supply power to main relay and ECU
  • When starting under-dash Fuse No. 9 needs to supply power (+) via the Blu/Red wire (for cars with Auto transmission) or Blk/Grn wire (for cars with M/T) to the main relay
  • ECU needs to supply ground (-) via the Grn/Blk wire to the main relay
  • Under-dash Fuse No. 2 (fuel pump fuse) need to supply power via the Red/Wht wire to the main relay

Fuses are fine. Still getting no power. Ground has been pulled off cleaned and retightened. I jumped the red/white wire to the fuel pump wire. Blew the fuse, replaced it and still no power

Measure/read voltage at the respective power wires going to/from main relay. Check for continuity to ground on respective ground wires going to main relay.

That would be the way to narrow where the issue is.

No power at which wires? There are several.

No power from any of them. Red/white wire coming from the fuse panel has no power and no power from ecu fuse. Looking at the wiring diagram it shows straight to the fuse with no fuse links or anything so I'm confused why there's no power. Also will add, I was getting power before I jumped the wires.

Check the main battery fuse in the under-hood fuse box. Check there is power at connector terminal T1 of the under-hood fuse box. Check your battery and the battery cables.

T1 is shown here:

If this is battery power (12V) at T1, then the next checks would be testing for continuity on the respective power wires from the under-hood fuse box and under-dash fuse box to the main relay harness connector.

As previously stated, the next checks would be testing for continuity on the respective power wires from the under-hood fuse box and under-dash fuse box to the main relay harness connector. Is there continuity at all the respective power wires?

Is there continuity to ground at the wires where ground suppose to be?

No there is no continuity to the harness. If there was continuity then I wouldn't be here. Just would need to replace the relay. But ground is good
