Default Another knock sensor post

Hello,
I have a 93 Del Sol that I put a B16A into, I scoured everywhere for the wiring and ended up using the purge solenoid connector from the original Z6 harness (that is on the B16A), and moved the connector from A20 to D3 on the ECU (P30). I figured this out by chasing down the connections and then checking continuity from sensor plug to ECU plug. I am still getting the CEL 23, and am wondering if I just need to cut the ground wire on the plug (it still has the two wires), rewire the entire route with shielded wire, or actually have knock. I have seen lots of posts that just say that it needs one wire, but am not sure if the second matters. I appreciate any help, and thanks to the numerous posters and replies to the many searches I've done, some back to 2004 or so...

So an update, I checked out the plug and where the connector is on the knock sensor. The connector on the sensor is on the tab side. The red wire from the Z6 harness for the purge solenoid, that connects to A20 on the ECU before moving it, is opposite from the tab. So I took the wires out and put the red on the tab side and hooked it back up. Took out for a test drive up to 7k RPM and no CEL! I wish I could have found this info sooner rather than digging around and then trying to figure it out from the schematics. So the shortcut on a swap from Z6 to B16A (already wired for VTEC) is just to swap the wire side from the leftover purge sensor, and change A20 to D3... First time hearing the VTEC kick in on this is fantastic, cant wait to actually open it up! (Just moved and need new plates to take it out on the roads)

Again thank you for the repository of info here yall!

Congrats. Don't be disappointed you didn't find the info sooner - the kind of learning you did will stick in your head better than just finding the answer, and you'll become a contributor to sites like this instead of just a consumer.
