Default 2000 Honda Civic EX - Major brake fluid leak rear wheel

Hey guys,

New user here. I recently finished replacing the fuel lines on my 2000 Honda Civic EX and when I started her up, I saw the BRAKE sign was red. I pushed down on the brake and it went all the way to the floor. I checked and the right rear wheel is leaking, and I think it's the brake hose? I took a video as well which is attached if anyone can confirm what it might be from this angle.

I got the car over a year ago, so I don't know the history too well. The brake lines looked replaced since they weren't rusted. In general the brakes need to be replaced, but I'm looking for a quick out so I can get emission test down and renew my registration. Any help is appreciated if you know what the problem is, and time/cost to repair or replace (I'll probably do it myself).

Has anyone replaced the 'pipe e, right brake', see link, that connects to the cylinder/rear right brake hose? Based on the video it looks like it's leaking from there. Adding a picture if anyone can confirm if I'm right.

Part # looks to be 46331-S04-000. I'm seeing websites/sources listing $50, but have not seen a video of a replacement. I will call a couple Honda dealerships to see if anything exists. I don't want to tow it to get it fixed at a shop.

Red = leak spraying Blue = brake hose (I think) Black = the 'pipe e, right brake'

OP, your rust problem is more of a concern than the leak.

I agree. I just changed the fuel lines which were rusted to crap. The car has been in Chicago it's whole life and my uncle gave me the car around a year ago after it was sitting around for three years.

I am trying to pass the emission test and then get a registration sticker before diving into more work.

Anyone able to validate the leak is from the pipe e, right brake? Ideally would like to start working on the car before it gets cold.

In that immediate area, that's the only place it COULD be leaking. You can either overpay for the entire brake line, go to a shop and have them run you a new one or do it yourself. Making/bending brake lines is actually very easy, as long as you flare the lines correctly. Also, by the looks of that rusty mess, you'll probably end up replacing the brake cylinder also.

Quick update. So I ordered the part, the Type E, Right Brake based on the video. I took the wheel off and was able to confirm that it was leaking. I was able to replace it and the leak disappeared! Huzzah!

I thought about replacing the left side as well but held off in case the leak originated from else where. The cars at my parents in the suburbs so I didn't want to deal with returning parts in case it was wrong. I bled the brakes in sequence, and then as I was testing one last time for good measure, I started hearing a hiss

Got out to check and the frickin same part on the left side was now leaking haha. It was very easy to replace so I think I'm going to take a video of this one and post a video of the DIY.
