Default Koni yellow Fork question

Since there is nothing on the whole internet let me ask you my questions.

I had my tokico/GC for about 6-7 years.
Now I am switching to Koni.

I cutted the OEM brake hose braket since it wont slide in because the Koni yellow are larger (Am I right?) Now they are in place but not as tight as hammered,

Before installing,I put the the fork at the right place (little groove at the rear) then use a sharpie to properly align when Installing.

1. Do I really need the braket for a right installation?

2. At my first attemp to installing I hammered the fork way too far, Do I have the right Fork? (Still using the OEM one)

The picture above are not my Koni (from the internet)

koni yellows are made to fit the OEM brake bracket. with the bracket in place, it spaces the fork so that the dimple is in the correct location for the pinch bolt, just like an OEM shock, and your old tokico shock.

this being said, you DONT NEED to use the bracket.

you may either:

place the fork in the right spot and fasten the pinch bolt to the regular torque value, IT WILL NOT SLIP.

or

you slide the fork up the shock, gain a lot of extra shock travel and it will work just fine. if youre using GC coilovers, it wont really affect anything, just adjust the perch. i wouldnt recommend doing this with a regular spring kit, it will lower your ride height more than it was designed for.
