This is more a record for the sake of recording. Granted mother nature is already lightening most Preludes day by day...

I recently bought an all original 1997 Prelude Base MT. Going to be a daily driver but I hope to shed some weight by removing or replacing components and weighing them as I go. This post will be updated as I gather information.

-Trunk lid (stripped of lock and latch)
20lb
-Vis Racing CF/Fiberglass trunk lid
15.6lb

 

Backseats I believe were about 25 lbs the 3 inches I cut off Gear selector shaft was 35 grams. I never weighed the rust that I scraped from frame but I am sure it was a pound or 2. Get rid of glass sunroof if you really want weight reduction and replace your pulleys and anything else you can with Aluminum versions. Im sure your aware of that since you are taking time to weigh the before and after. Go Demon mode like dodge and remove all seats but drivers
