No wonder america is not getting the Type R. Almost 80% of tracks in America are drag strips (this has a direct affect on Honda's market research). So If you drag race, I dont think you can complain about not getting the Type R. Honda didn't spend millions in chassis development to see it go in a straight line.
we got the type R.. because.. Acura wanted to keep the integra alive.. after all it did live for freaking 8 years.. IF no type R came out.. the INtegra would of died years ago.. But then the Type R came out and gave it some MOre time before they came out with the RSX..

The DC2 was released in 1994. The first type R was made in 1996 in japan and the first type R we got here in the states was in 1997 . The integra type R which came in phoenix yellow and championship white ( drool)..lol.
So here is my little theory on when we might get the DC5R. Well the DC2 was released in 1994 and we got a type R in 1997, so that is a 3 year difference between when the dc2 came and when we got the dc2r. So if we take that same set up and place it on the rsx this is what I got. The rsx was released in 2oo2, so if we add another 3 years to it then we get 2oo5. So if honda follows the same steps it did with the DC2, then expect the DC5R to be here in 2oo5. But like I said this is just a theroy I have about the DC5R and it's release. So do not take this theory 1oo%, but if it does come out in 2oo5 I better get some respect for my knowledge, if my theory is wrong then shhhss.. ehehhe..

Well to be exact the type R kept the "integra" alive for 4 years in the states and 5 in japan. Or so to say. The integra was always a poplular car and all the Type R did was hype the integra even more.

i dont think Honda has a pattern ....as long as the Type S is steadily selling well and bringing in the money they want ...they will not bring a Type R ....but if the sales take a dip for the worse ..i coould see them bringing it over ....even if they loose money selling a type R ...it would draw attention back to the RSX ..and hopefully boost sales again

well, that theory may be a bit flawed. the R came out in japan in '96 and in north america the following year. so, since the new r is already out in japan as a 2002 model then we should have them here sometime in 2003.

you're putting waaaaaaay too much thought into this. they're out to make money, they could care less what you do with the car once you fork over the money.
