Speed sensor
Guys my car broke down last Friday I thought I blew my tranny, but my buddy told me it could also be my speed sensor. When I drive if my engine revvs to hard it makes the car completely act like it’s in neutral, I have to pull over and restart my car a bunch of times just to get it going but even then I can’t get up to 60 without it happening again I need help!
I'm looking through a manual for the years this forum covers and don't see any mention of a speed sensor . Make sure the tranny fluid is pink not burnt smelling and level is good , I'm told using anything but honda ATF will shorten tranny life , and I'm also told that's not true but I use honda ATF . Any time you post year , engine , model and mileage should be mentioned . Short of that slipping issues are not a good sign you may want to take it to a shop and see what they say .
You should get the car read for any trouble codes and post the actual numbers. Also include the year, make, model, # of cylinders, type of transmission, etc.
There is an Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed Sensor and an Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor on a transmission; however, without trouble codes being posted, and other pertinent info., it's all a guess.
