Default Curious about how this b16 trans issue got solved. Help

So I have a 97 civic with a b20b b16 swap and when shifting into 2nd gear it would grind. Only 2nd gear. Had the wrong vss in it so put the 96-00 one in and speedo odemeter work again, Added synchromesh, clutch works properly still was grinding. Thought it was the synchro.

Then I changed the starter, battery out and now 2nd gear doesnt grind anymore, would this be because the computer re learned how to opperate on its tune properly with the new vss? Im curious because I was preparing for a rebuild later down the road was shifting 1,3,4,5 for a few weeks lol.

It has nothing to do with the computer. Syncros are mechanical nothing controls them but metal to metal clearances. It’s provably from the synchromesh you put in it. Sometimes new fluid takes a little bit to work it’s magic.

Makes sense to me that had me confused as to why the most recent thing I changed and then no grinding lol probably still is the synchro then, started doing the grinding again today but not as consistently, thanks for the reply
