2006 Honda Pilot Temp Sensor/Overheating
My radiator had a hole and the transmission leaked into my radiator. I replaced the radiator and flushed both transmission and radiator. Currently my radiator fan doesn't come on at the right time. All fuses are good. I replaced the 2 temp sensors but would only kick on when temp gauge went over half way. I unplugged the 2nd sensor (near thermostat) and both fans come on at what looks like the right temp. Maybe was sold a bad sensor? Unfortunately my Pilot will eventually overheat even when the fans are running. Wondering if I still have coolant and transmission gumming up the system still. I continuously ran water though the radiator while it was running(radiator cap off and heater running) to clean out the system and waited till the next day and got more out the same way. Not sure if it's related but my compressor clutch no longer engages either. I plan on getting some of the radiator flush liquid to see if it loosens up anymore gunk. Any thoughts would be appreciated thanks.
It sounds like you have an air lock. Did you rev the engine and squeeze the lower rad hose to burp the system?
Do you see any rainbow film on the surface of the water which went through the radiator?
You should turn the heat on high to purge anything which got trapped in the heater core too.
