10mm cam oil rails don't fully tighten, why?
Hey all,
I just changed out my cam cap and when I was retightening the smaller 10mm bolts that hold on the leftmost and rightmost cam caps, they don't torque down like the rest of the 12mm bolts on the rail. They're more than finger tight, it's just that they're not fully torque-able. Anyone know why this might happen? Is there potential oil or liquid in the threaded hole and maybe I'm starting to cross thread?
TIA

they have a torque value, and the end most cam caps need rtv in certain spots or it will leak.
Chase the threads and see if that helps. Bolts could be damaged too.
