I've been doing some reading and research that I'm getting mixed results. Can somebody with experience pls help me out.
I have a b18 (machine shop at the moment for fresh bore) that I'll be putting in fresh pistons on. What is the proper piston ring clocking? I have a brand set of hastings piston rings and I'm pretty much okay on the gapping part but confused a little on the clocking.
I've searched and found these images that I'll insert below. Please clarify if I can follow these diagrams or not. I've downloaded the manual and I also ordered the book itself. Just something to read and log down proper specs until block is done. Pls help and clarify to those that have an answer for my question. Thanks.
That looks like Honda FSM instructions. I am aware the page below is D-series but it my understanding the clocking specifications are the same on D and B series from what I've seen. I'll take a quick look into the integra fsm pages and confirm but I'm confident there won't be any difference in that portion.
Confirmed, 94 integra manual (b-series motor) has the exact same clocking instructions:
Thank you for the quick reply. I also have the Honda service manual for d series and it's also the same clocking orientation. So is the first image correct with the intake and exhaust side? I'm also using 82mm YCP pistons, does that even matter at all? I havent opened the box and I gave the package with the block to the machine shop. They say they will check clearance on the pistons before handing it over to me. If in case you're wondering why 82mm it's because the walls had a slight scratch and I had to get it bored.
