Default importing an itr

Hello. I currently live in Tokyo, Japan but plan to move to California next year. I am the proud owner of a '99 Integra Type-R, which I am thinking of taking with me to CA. Does anyone out there have any experience in importing a JDM into CA? I would appreciate hearing any thoughts on this. Thanks.

Is it 25 years old? No?

You're not importing it to be road legal and certainly not in California.

That was my original plan, but the more I investigate the conditions the less inclined I am to pursue it. Looks to be a lot more trouble and expense than it would be worth, although I will dearly hate to give up my ITR here in Japan.
I bought the car new in 1999.

You should come to Japan, buy it and then part it out.
It'll sell here for a whole lot less than it would over there...

I plan on going to Japan summer 2020. It'll be my first time going. Where are you moving to in CA?

We're aiming for the Santa Rosa area.
We also plan on moving around March/April. Why don't you buy my car and import it yourself. It's a beauty! Only 23,000+ miles on the odo.
