Weird 5th Gen Distributor Issue - Please help!!
So I have a '99 SH with JRSC, the thing is sweet. My distributor is kinda on the fritz, but it works OK most of the time. So I decided to replace it. Rather than cheap out and get a reman or crappy aftermarket one from the parts store, I shelled out like $700 for all new OEM housing, control module, cap, rotor, etc...
I put the thing on, and it runs AMAZING for like 3 minutes. Then it bogs out and won't go over 3k rpm and throws a P1381 code. I put the old distributor on and it works just like it used to...
I took the housing back and got a replacement housing, same issue. I am starting to think it is the control module. And yes, it is the correct one, TEC TD-77U.
Anyone have any ideas??

On the 5G Prelude, the TDC sensor is found behind the crank pulley and NOT inside the distributor. The distributor only has the CYP (Cylinder Position) sensor inside. So unfortunately, you are replacing the wrong parts.
I don't understand it.
