Default 2000 B20 tach wire question

Can this terminal be used for sending a tachometer signal? If not, what is it for?

I am going from memory here... but if that male spade is normally capped with a blue wire, then yes, it could be used for a tach output. Do you have another distributor that has a blue tach wire in the plug that you can compare inside ???

Same here. Wait a minute... I’m the op! Lol

I’ll check in my stash to see if I have an old B18 distributor.

Gotcha. Was going to point out that if the issue is no tach in an obd2b car, with an obd1 ecu/jumper harness, all you need to do is jump the ICM wire to the NEP wire on the obd2 side of your jumper harness. I don’t remember the PIN numbers off the top of my head, but you can find them on the FF Squad, etc diagrams. Most decent quality jumper harnesses already do this but some of the cheap ones skip it.

Thanks. I have all that info, but I just couldn’t find anything about this particularly. Oh, and I don’t have an old distributor laying around, so I’ll just slip a wire on it and see what she does.

Not good.

Any recommendations on where to get these sensors? The cyp, cpp, and tdc, right?

It’s an OEM harness, so it goes along the original wiring.

Will do.

The tach stopped working after I changed the coil awhile back. It worked for a little bit, then stopped.
