Default Hello Im new and have a couple of questions

Hello people, i am new here. Well i use to have a 01 prelude, but now i have an 02 GTS, its a long story. Anyways my lil bro has a 97 lude SH and I am helping him build this car. When i had my lude, i was going to do a h22/h23 hybrid, but i gave up after i lost my car, anyways i forgot a lot of the stuff i knew about the swap. He also wants to boost the car after the rebuild. What kind of pistons, rods, cams, etc do you recommend. Keep in mind that around a 6k budget is in place. Most parts i know i can get for cheap if not at cost. Labor is going to be done by my friend once he flies in from the Air force. He just told me to get the parts i want and we can build it. I already have a h22 top and am buying the block for a h23. Any suggestions?

I suggest you search this gets asked a few times a week. I suggest you sleeve the block, as you have no choice if you want forged pistons. Ask specific questions as I don't have time to write a book on the H23 VTEC everytime somebody asks

Your brother has a prelude SH so that puts you up a creek. The SH tranny will not bolt to the H23 block...and your suspension pieces will need to be changed if you want to change the blocks....and you will lose your ATTS, which is why you got the SH in the first place.

ok yea i know about all the grunt work involved except for the tranny part. hmmmm this is a delima. I just want advice on what kind of pistons and rods i should. Just mainly name brands on whats the best out there. I personally dont know a ton about rebuilding blocks, but my two friends do. They are big car heads. Actually one of my friends is working with XS Engineering building his turbo specifically for his b18. He told me once it is done he should have aroun 700 hp to the wheels. He has a JDM conversion LS and it will soon be fully built.

for good quality performance, than you can push pretty hard, i would go with Golden Eagle or Darton sleeves, JE pistons, and Eagle or Crower rods
