1996 (F22B1). No fuel in #2 Cylinder at idle and under 25% throttle
When idling my car has no fuel in #2 Cylinder. If I’m going 75 down the highway it doesn’t matter if the throttle is 25% or less there is no fuel in the cylinder. I know it has spark because it clicks on the tube but when I pull the coil it has no effect on the idle (which is rough). I have a new injector ready to be put in but I’m worried that’s not the problem. Sometimes my exhaust smells like straight up gas seeming though it’s stuck open but when I pull the plug it has no effect.
So it has a hard miss under the stated circumstances? If you have a single clogged/dirty injector causing a lean condition the ECU will be trying to compensate by increasing fuel delivered. The O2 sensor reads a collective average from all the cylinders and aims for a certain target. Replace the injector and you should be good. Check all of the injector wiring for damage while you're in there. If the fuel pump is coming on then it's good. If you pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator and don't see any raw fuel come out it should be good also. There's not much more to the fuel system mechanically.
Alright good deal thanks for the input, makes more sense now. Will post tmr to say if its fixed or not.
The injector didn't fix the issue. Sometimes the car will idle on all 4 but as soon as you press the gas the 2nd cylinder cuts out. I have wiggled wiring reconnected plugs and everything but nothing makes a difference unless there is wiring im missing. Starting to think it might be ECU. Help is appreciated
As to define the answer better after a night of sucking the doors of everything we raced our H22 floated a exhaust valve hitting the piston at top RPM...slightly bending it .. When engine was 25% or more throttle compression pressure made the miss go away...
Yeah I advised him to do a compression test in a PM a couple days ago. Maybe he'll post back with results sooner or later.

keep me posted in way curious about this too

Sorry for being so late but i did a compression test and had more than 160 psi in each cylinder. All Cylinders are very close, i have just forgotten true values. Still have no clue whats causing all this.
Update. Did another compression test found 175psi on number 2 (cold) and 150psi on 1 (cold) the number 1 spark plug is also white as can be and has spotty white buildup on the bottom ring around the ceramic tip while number 2 plug is very black. My car will also only keep coolant for about 30 minutes so I think it’s gotten much worse. I’m definitely pointing towards head gasket now. Any ideas?
