I own a 2018 CRV Ex purchased Dec. 2018. I called Honda about the one year extended warranty they are automatically adding to the 2017-2018 Honda CRV EX and above models with the turbo engine. I never received the letter so wanted to understand why. I've asked multiple people who own this same vehicle and everyone has received a letter. Honda told me not all EX models have the oil/gas dilution issues and that my car is not getting the extended warranty. She explained that it depends on the parts and factory location, blah blah. I believe this is utter and complete BS, especially as all CRVs in cold weather states were being offered the free oil change and software update because there is a known defect in the way the engine is designed. Can someone please chime in, this seems like an excuse where Honda can downplay the issue by only offering the warranty to some select few.

I have already been to the dealer twice in January and February with both gas fumes and electrical issues (this was well before I even knew about this oil/gas flaw). The dealer said the electrical malfunction was simply because it's cold, and they completely ignored my complaint about gas fumes that started day 1. I have a host of other issues such as brake pedal not compressing and therefore car not starting, weird noise which seems to be coming from behind the AC or touchscreen, as well as a touchscreen that goes in and out (just today it went blank and then started flashing the screen where you can adjust the brightness). I have another appointment this week.
