I am looking to buy a 95 honda delsol, Im still in the process of getting information about it. But i do know it was swapped from the original motor and now Has a d series Civic engine with turbo. The Ac was deleted and the person who is selling has told me that it really doesnt have any supporting mods and it would be a chore to put back in. I was just wonder if anyone can give me some advice if it was still possible to put the ac back in and not cost a left leg, maybe $1500 or less. I am not a mechanic by any means, but would possibly try myself if possible. I will post a picture of the engine bay he sent me, its not the best and I will hopefully be going to look at it in person this weekend and will take a few better pictures. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! [If I posted this in the wrong section just tell me and i will move it to where I need to.]
The factory condenser sits right where the turbo is. So your options are: get rid of turbo and install factory ac components, or keep turbo and maybe you could shoehorn a compressor and custom condenser somewhere if there is even room. The custom is going to cost more.
eBay has “universal fit” condensers for cheap, but your biggest problem isn’t going to be fitting the condenser, but installing a compressor and running the lines.
I would be more concerned about the reliability of the car rather than AC. Yes, there are plenty of honest, competent people who do sell their turbocharged Hondas. And there are those who half-assed it and are selling it due to multiple issues. Good luck because that obviously looks like a Ebay setup.
