Is $1100 Reasonable for 2010 Honda CR-V 100K (B14) Maintenance?
My 2010 CR-V is throwing the maintenance code B14. I got a quote from the dealership for $1100. Is this reasonable?
The required maintenance includes:
My favorite neighborhood shop got bought out and all the good mechanics left, so I've lost my go-to shop for stuff like this.
thanks

If you have a 4 cyl then valve adjustment is a 2 hour job. Serpentine belt is a 15 min DIY job. Spark plugs add another 10 min. If you have a V6 then valve adjustment is a 4 hour job and 15 min for spark plugs. If they are doing valves, then spark plugs and serpentine belt have to come off; therefore there would be no additional time. What is their hourly rate and are they providing parts? Go from there. Watch youtube videos for your car (take Eric the Car guy with a grain of salt as he is a d..k)

seems expensive to me. I would find another mechanic or DIY. like the above poster said. Serpentine belt can be done in 10 minutes, valve adjustment generally 1-2 hrs labor done on a COLD engine. Good parts to replace are valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals while you are in there. Parts shouldn’t cost more than 100$
