Default Civic 91 sedan won't start after a long drive

Hi Guys,

I'm based in Israel and own a 91 Civic Sedan.
I made a swap and now have an engine: D16Y8, P28 ECU.
OBD 0 to OBD 1 Harness from Rywire.
after a 30 minute drive aprx if i turn off the car and want to start it doesn't start.

If i disconnect and reconnect the battery the car starts, therefore i think its a wiring/electrical issue.

known issues:
Speedometer cable doesn't work.
AC doesn't work

things that were done:
New battery
swapped main relay

any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks,

my engine bay

what happens when you try to start? does it make a clicking noise? does it turn over?

have you tried to kick the main relay?

how tight are your battery connectors? try putting a piece of foil in between the post and clamp to get it to pinch stronger.

You will need to do some troubleshooting as there are too many things that could cause this. A main relay is a likely culprit, but if it has been replaced (with a new one I would hope), then you need to look elsewhere. When you are in a no start condition, check for spark. If you have good spark, then you need to look into your fuel system. Could be a bad coil, distributor cap, crank sensor, fuel pump....etc.

any trouble codes showing?

if it turns over but doesn't start, it could also be the igniter - it is heat sensitive
