Default Honda CR-V needs a lift

Hello everyone !

I am planing to buy my first CR-V soon ( prob will be somewhere between 02-05 model ) and I was hoping I can get some help from you guys ))

The thing I am on the budget so after doing almost a moth of research I am thing on buying 2nd Gen CR-V
but I want to mod it .. I want to lift it up and put bigger tiers on it to start with and then add the lights and all other kind of fun good things on the roof lol

my budget is about 3000$ for the car itself ( maybe can stretch it up to 4000$ if the deal is really really good ) but dont know ..
so Now I would love to know what kind of lift kits I can get ( if there is any ) what should I know and worry about ? how much could it be ?
what kind of tires can I get ? what is the limit not to go too crazy big so it won't impact the driving, gas and safety ?

any help would be super appreciated !

Save $$ for repairs. CRV is not an offroad vehicles and you do not need a lift for city driving where it belongs.

If you are set on a 2nd gen get an 05-06. They have the upgraded rear end with the ramp clutch for quicker engagement of the AWD. The downside is they are only better going in the forward direction as the ramp assembly only works one way.

Get ready to spend and arm and a leg on CV joints in the front. China made joints vibrate like mad and good joints are $$$$ but won't much like being operated at larger angles.

Sounds like a fun project! I love my lifted Civic Wagon RT4WD.

Big tires and a roof rack, expect to lose 2-3mpg on the highway.

CV joints are going to wear faster. Same for brake pads. Automatic transmission will probably have accelerated wear as well. Taller tires = taller gearing = harder to get the vehicle moving. Speedometer will probably be off as well. Just the usual lifted vehicle issues.

Wheel bearings go out faster too.

Dobinson sells lift springs on Amazon for about $200 each pair. I'm a big fan of springs rather than spacers.

Don't lift it more than 1.5" or so.

Unless that snow is deep enough to drag on the undercarriage, nope. Best thing for snow is fresh studless snow tires. Amazing how well those things work.
