Hello, I will be showing you how to tear down and rebuild your automatic transmission (transaxle) on your Honda/ Acura. The NHTSA published several reports detailing the results of their findings on the automatic transmission failures for the TL 3.2L engine. I am talking about all of the Honda/ Acura transmission recalls of this era. The report states the causes of these transmission failures. This is a massive video series. It will get better as it progresses so if you are patient it will be worth it. Explains all you ever wanted to know about these transmissions.

Make sure you watch in the highest quality setting: 1080p. Although this is for a 2002 Odyssey, they use very similar designs for many vehicles. the slight differences would be, for example, the orientation for the step groove on the reverse selector ring. These were the ones on the recall list however many other transmissions were similar, so this guide applies to a huge list of vehicles not on the recall:

Also part 13 will be one of the most important parts, it talks and shows the thrust washer for 3rd clutch for the 5 speed. for 4 speed auto transmissions you will need to grind out the thrust washer for 2nd clutch yourself. the links for the 2 articles I wrote explain it
