Default Tire size

I have 380000 in my 05 V6 6sp.I have been running 225/50 17s on my factory wheels with good results. I've had 4 or 5 sets on Contental Extreme DSW over the years. I'm ready for another set of tires and was considering possibly 235/45 17 and was wondering if anyone had tried that size. They are a little taller than the factory 215s but not quite as tall as the 225/50 which is fine with me. The factory tires leave the speedometer about 2 mph optimistic and the 225 run exactly on. Any thoughts on the 235s would be welcome.

Wheels are factory 17x7

Sorry no experience with 235’s but wanted say congrats on that mileage figure. Almost to 400k!
I also have an 05 V6 6MT but with 160k on the clock. Car has never let me down.

I wouldn't run a 235 on a 7inch wide wheel. I'm currently running 235/45/17 on 17x8 and it is phenomenal. 225/50 is just fine for 7inch wheel.

I run 235/45 R17s on my TL and they are great, that said, the general consensus is they are too wide for a 7" rim.
