P0705 code and tranny range sensor
If my 99 accord 3L V6 it has the P0705 code for the transmission range sensor, will the transmission shift hard or delay in shifting? I have that code and the only symptom is the strange shifting. The fluid was just drained and refilled with factory fluid at the dealer. I'm trying to figure out why the trans is shifting weird. It did it before the fluid change but only seems to be slightly better afterwards. Will changing the range sensor improve how it shifts?
As you can tell, I'm new to the Honda world so I need a little help. Thanks

What code is actually present?
P0705 does not exist.
It is either P0715(Mainshaft(NM) speed sensor) or it is P1705(Transmission switch short to ground).
Either can cause erratic or harsh shifting.
Verify which code it is for correct diagnostics.

Welllll, the guy at O'Reillys said it was P0705 but I was looking it up in the shop manual and just as you said, it says P1705 for Transmission switch to ground. He did say it was the ground issue so i have to assume he just wrote it down wrong. I just ordered my own scanning tool so I don't have to rely on Jim Bob at Autozone or wherever to run the codes for me anymore. The tool arrives tomorrow so I'll scan it myself to make sure of what it is.
And if that switch can cause erratic or harsh shifting, that is the likely culprit.
The only other question I had is whether or not a bad wheel speed sensor can throw bad info to the trans and make it shift weird. That is the only other relevant code it showed.
Thanks.

Transmission has shaft speed sensors and I believe the '99 still had a VSS for actual speed.
Wheel speed sensors are for ABS and TCS(if applicable)
If the PCM does not know what gear you have selected, or the switch it grounding out, it may shift erratically as the PCM may not know what gear is actually selected.
