So half way through my way across town, my gas pedal gives out. after i stop I could only accelerate very slowly til it capped at around 15 mph. then after leaving it off, we added oil and coolant and it started up good and drove 17 miles home perfectly fine. Any thing I should know?

 

Check for a blown head gasket which is a common issue with these engines. Especially if you are adding coolant and the coolant reservoir is puking coolant.
