Default Can a 1998 Accord start without immobilizer chip?

I've ordered an
immobilizer bypass chip. In the mean time the car won't crank. Does anyone know if the 1998 Accord 3.0l v6, will crank if I go ahead and remove the immobilizer chip off ecu?
Thanks
Wally

Boy, cat got your tongues. I thought people helped one another on these forums. No one knows the answer to the question?

Nobody really bothers disabling them in this forum. And the majority of enthusiasts are F/H guys, not so much the J series.
Somebody just posted a page on it, think Tech8 did. Pop the chip out but you need to jumper two terminals to bypass proper. Dunno if it is the same for J series.

Thanks for the reply MAD_Mike. I'll check it out. I just checked with two different stealerships, and that's pretty much what they said. I'm interested in a discussion about bypassing or modifying most of this pure electronic **** on these old Honda's. I realize you all are a younger crowd, more interested with performance. I get it. But, the car needs to be reliable before anything else is possible. Has there been an total system modification discussion on this site?

I desoldered the immobolizer in my ecu after swapping in a f23a1 from the f23a5 non vtev that came in my 98. cons are I cant use the obd2 diagnostic port anymore and theres always a CEL illuminated. had to go this route after losing the key that matched the ecu while doing the swap, and didn't want to pay the dealership to reprogram the key that came with the car originally

Installing an emulator board would resolve the CEL being illuminated, etc.
