Smog question
I have a 96 Civic which was BAR'D for a 97 GSR. It currently has a Type R BLOCK, a GSR head but the valves were set up for Type R cams. So I got my cams micro polished and I'm going to pick them up and have everything installed but I need to buy an ECU. I'll be running an AEM intake and a Cat-Back exhaust and that's about it as far as mods. I also have to buy an intake Manifold, fuel rail, injectors and all of the rest of the smog related equipment. Any recommendations on those parts would be greatly appreciated for this small build. My real question is can I run a Type R ECU and still pass a smog check in Cali? With a Type R Block and GSR head setup for Type R wouldn't it make the most sense to run a Type R ECU? Tia

In the end you need engine management like Hondata to deal with your mashup of parts long term. You *should* be able to pass smog with the Type-R bottom end and GSR top/ECU.
