Default 98 crv offroad

So I recently got a fwd 98 crv and was wondering what kind of offroading it could handle. Obviously it ain't gonna handle mudding or rock crawling but by way of like trail riding what can it handle?

It can handle anything a civic can handle.

IOW, not much, especially since it's not even AWD.

If it were AWD, as long as there was not too much of an incline, and nothing that was too rutted or rocky, it would do decent. When I had my first gen the problem was height clearance and not enough tire. But it handled plenty of fire roads.

my crv handles just about anything pretty damn well, even driving uphill on icy roads it did good before i got my lift and all terrain tires. as long as your rear diff is functioning well it can handle most mild offroading, but ground clearance sucks at stock ride height

my bad, i didnt see the part where you said it was fwd, ya like caoboy said, it can handle just about as much as a regular old civic. a fwd crv is pretty pointless for the most part but if i were to ever drive a lowered a crv it would be a fwd one lol. if you get an awd transmission and all the drive train i believe you could convert it, it already has basically all the mounting points for everything and the rear hubs are already set up for axles, fwd crvs use a dummy CV to hold to wheel bearings together.

I have a 01 crv fwd of course. I live out in the country (southeast US) and have taken mine pretty much every where with out much problem. Think i got stuck in mud once but manage to get myself out. I dont know if it would handle rock crawling. I think it does well with off road, simpler trails and such, wouldn't go hitting the jacked up 4wd trails just yet.
