Default Strange yellow goo in harness connections

Hi, so I just bought an EK hatch roller. No ecu, but I've discovered this heavy thick yellow goo inside all of the harness connections and now I'm very concerned if this harness is ruined. Is this dielectric grease or something else? This is my first roller and would love to hear your thoughts on this, thank you!

lol that's dielectric grease man. Someone went a bit crazy with it apparently, I'd probably try to clean it out with a steam cleaner if you have access to one. Heat will help that stuff flow out of the connectors

Dielectric grease is your friend. Don't remove it! It displaces moisture and contaminants and discourages corrosion. That stuff is the reason you can buy an EF in 2019 and the harness connections are still viable. Try that with a ford or a Chevy same age.

Ok cool, thank you very much! I will probably remove some of it to clean it up a bit but I'm glad that it's there!
