Engine Swap Odyssey 07 LX to 08 EXL
Hey guys
Can any one tell me if I can swap the motor from
07 Odyssey LX 5FNRL38237B049548
INTO
08 Odyssey EXL 5FNRL387X8B408293
I haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone.

Why not just swap the correct 08 Engine? Even within the 08's there are a few different engines dependant on VIN....the 08 Engine should cost you around 1200 or so and it would literally just drop right in with no worry.
The reason that no one can give you a straight answer is no ones probably had the need to do that, if they did they just went with something the knew was compatible.
If your hell bent on doing it, would probably need the ECU from the 07 and possibly some wiring. 08's have that Earth Dreams engine with VCM and putting an engine in without this may cause issues.

To my knowledge the EX-L and Touring had the the VCM motor(Variable Cylinder Management) and are different. You would need to research for yourself if that applies to the years you are looking at, but I believe these are different.
In addition when you search for engines on ebay they differentiate between VCM and Non VCM by the model type. So you would need a motor from an EX or below trim level.
