Icon2 Finally got springs

Well I've had suspension springs on my list for quite a while. When I put new struts in my DA, I did get Osaka springs for the front. That's all I could find at the time for stock height. They're only OK, and one of them came nearly a quarter inch shorter than the other...out of the box. I'm getting 75 around 30 marked corners without a lot of risk, but I'm sure that the AGX front and Excel-Gs in the rear have something to do with that....and I"ve replaced every suspension bushing in the car, with either OEM Acura or Hardrace and Skunk2.

Now finally with a good bit of research, I found that Ground Control sells...and sold me this morning a coil over kit with customized length for stock height and 315F/280R spring rates. tho I'm switching to Tokico illumina adjustable struts for the rear.

Gee, I've spent 6k on parts for this car and nearly everything else is set. 180k on the engine and trans, but the springs on the rear are original.....and pretty much worn out.

I'm excited to make this step, and I don't expect I'll need to do much else. Nearly everything else is new and I don't drive it hard, much anymore. Just every once in a while.

I'll let everybody know how they work out, but I expect others here, have used them.

Comments welcome?

.

That sounds decent enough, interested to hear how it works for you. The problem most people make with ground controls is that they slam the ride, so you get worse handling than stock and the shocks get killed. Keep the drop reasonable and that will work great for you.

I went with H&R OE Sport springs with KYB AGX shocks, the springs are the same spec as ITR, with a similar drop - .50.- 75" approx, which is good IMO, also similar to the ITR ride height. Great handling and still comfy.

That ride height is as far as I'll go for the dc2.

I'm keeping mine at the stock height. This kit was the only way to get stock height springs at the rear.

...new ones. I've looked everywhere for a long time.

I did the exact same setup with my integra thinking the same way! I also had a civic slammed on GC and blew out the shocks in a little over a year. Total bummer because they were Tokico Illuminas.

Gee guys, Ground Control makes a mount for that very purpose. The link for the one made for the Integra.

This would've been nice to have 18 years ago when I installed the GC's in my civic.
