I need f22b2 help please, electrical mayhem.
I searched threads for an hour couldnt find specific weird symptoms.
96 accord lx, coupe
f22b2 5 speed
Greddy stg 3 clutch/aluminum flywheel
Shitty 2.5in ebay cold air intake
Cruise control removed
The Non adjustable ignition timing dist.
No check engine lights.
Ever since i did a timing belt change due to a faulty ckp/tdc sensor, while also installing an MSD streetfire icm and streetfire cdi coil.
My car will sometimes rev crash at (most of the time) 4k to 5500 rpm somtimes wont go past 2500. The more you press the gas the more it wants to die.
The weird part when it rains car runs amazing, my subs hit harder and lights are brighter Also if Any power load occurs (subs, cooling fan,) but only while the load occurs....lol like a long bass line in a song car will rev easily to redline but as soon as the sub hit ends back to rev crash.
Sounds like a ground right?
-My amp is grounded to the trunk wall left of the jack, (good sanded metal to metal contact) never had issues with that location on my other 96 accord.
●since this problem ive:
-I upgraded to an agm battery, ran a battery ground to my strut bar so i could ground msd better than on the fire wall i also noticed my ecu ground on intake mani. Had no volt reading so ran a ground to that.
I have yet to check battery to frame ground but it was conncted and tight.
The msd wireing to car:
- 12v switch > YLW/BLK stock coil pigtail
- white trigger wire > YLW/GRN stock icm signal wire.
-grey tach signal wire > equis tach.
-12v > battery
-ground > strut bar ground.
All unused stock wires nicely capped.
It has new cap and rotor, v power copper plugs, (old plugs) cylinder 1 the tip was white....
New 10mm dragonfire series plug wires and 8mm accel coil to dist. Wire.
Tried adjusting ignition timing but then realizing my dist. Has no turning option.
It seems there is an oil leak under dist.probably that seal But dry inside and also a oil leak by oil pump somewhere.
Heres somthin else, I had my tach 12v switch to my "ecu (cruise control) eat ecu" fuse i have since then moved it to the "daylight running" fuse but while i have ecu fuse out the car idles somewhat bad but does not cause the rev crash at alll.
I have an extra 94 f22b2 auto ecu dont know if i could make that work with being a 5spd. To try and see if ecu is prob.
Ive been on this for a month now please throw me some suggestions
I was thinking
Balance shaft problem but i timed it on corect rotation and everything.
Im admitting defeat and need help please.
