Default Worth it?

Hello there. Recently purchased a 2000 Honda Civic ex. I'm fairly new to the car world when it comes to getting my hands dirty (ex always said women don't belong around cars). Now that he is gone I want to build my first. My question is was it a good choice to choose for my first seeing as I have to YouTube everything I am doing?

To most its an easy car to work on, to the novice not so much. Why? Because you wouldn't know where to start. If you can invest in tools and time you can get ahead. There are plenty of tools to assist and power tools when you don't have the strength to move things along. But you also need to know what to do if something didn't go as planned.

Totally worth it! It's a great starter car that requires very few special tools and everything under the sun has been discussed here and filmed for youtube.

Go to Harbor Freight and get a starter tool kit that's Metric-sized, a hydraulic floor jack, jack stands, torque wrench, a shop manual for your car (eBay/Amazon has used dealership books for cheap), and just start familiarizing yourself with the various bits and pieces under the hood and behind the wheels. Start with little things like taking the wheels off and on, oil change and brake pads. Once you can get the feel of those things, you should be able to tackle most anything else with patience and reading the manual, watching videos.

Make sure that this car is not your primary vehicle so that you don’t end up getting in a bind for a vehicle if you have it torn apart over the weekend and can’t get it back together before work.
