I have a 1st gen b16a head on a b16a2 block with a short ram intake, header and exhaust. I'm not certain but the head came from HMO and I've read that it was probably off an automatic and the cams are the weakest in the b series family. internally the engine is fully stock I rebuilt it so it's all fresh but I think I want to upgrade to the skunk 2 stage 1 tuner cams, would this be a good plan? I would have to do valve springs and retainers as well and I was looking at the super tech 80lb springs. is this a good combination with a tune? also would I need cam gears or use oem?? the car wont be dyno tuned just street tuned.
