Sorry, I tried this under a different subjectline and couldn't edit it later. So I have a problem w noise that might be coming from a mis-fit part. What do you think?
Here are the deets: I have a Honda CR-V 2000. I need to replace a front left lower motor mount. The upper flange doesn't line up -- it's high and to the side, maybe 1/2". The part # is correct, 50828-S10-004. What to do?
Maybe there's a different part number for a different year that will fit?
I mounted the bad new part and the two lower bolts fit just fine. But now the car is quite loud and it seems due to vibration. This car was involved in a crash and everything else that got bent was replaced and now seems fine. So I'm now thinking the vibration noise is coming from the mis-fit mount. ...DO YOU THINK THIS IS LIKELY??? I only want to fuss w the mount if it'll make the car quieter. If I work my butt off getting this part to fit and it's still loud, well, that will be sad.
Tip to try for anyone dealing w motor mounts: if a bolt hole doesn't align at first then work with jack under the motor or w prying on the interior. Motor is suspended on rubber bushings in several planes. And it's heavy and sags. One or two bolts might fit but, as in my case, the third is out of line: I'm going to try jacking/prying and see what happens.
This is "quite" a helpful forum! Nobody else ever have an issue or tip for motor mounts?
