Default 2011 CR-V AC Evaporator Core Problem

Just discovered my CRV needs the ac evaporator core replaced because it's leaking. Was quoted $1200 because entire dash has to be removed, etc. Just wondering if anyone out there has done this job before or has an opinion on other options for solving this problem. I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want my dash, instrument cluster, etc. removed from my vehicle! any advice I'm grateful.

you only need to remove the glove box and various parts behind it like the blower motor. it's not a full dash removal job. replace the expansion valve while you're there

Thanks! Found a guy who did it for $428 and only removed the necessary passenger side parts.
