Default Cam Swap/PS+AC Delete

Good Afternoon Guys,

I have a 2000 EM1 with a B16A2 in it. My first question is if I were to swap to a set of ITR cams and am keeping my redline stock for now, do I need to tune for them or will the stock pcm run these cams. From what I have read on the local forums here, it seems that Ill pick up a bit more torque low end and bit more mid-range. I am waiting for my chipped p28 to get here, and I need to order the OBD2 to OBD1 adapter, but was curious about swapping out the cams early.

Second, does anyone have a guide to delete the power steering and AC from this? Prepping for a turbo kit and want to get started on that delete this weekend. Thanks for the info

IMO, you can either drop in the Type r cam, take it to get tuned and make maybe 5-8hp over stock.

Dropping them in, no tune, about 2-3hp if even that, because you can’t rev them out, and type r cam is basically all top end.

Or upgrade your valvetrain, choose a more aggressive cam, then tune. And make double if not more than that. You’ll be able to rev higher safely too

And for the delete, just use the search bar. It’s all there.

Thats good info, thanks. I wasnt planning on getting the redline raised until I take out the motor over next winter and build the bottom end and valve train will be upgraded at that point before boost. Was just thinking of a quick drop in for some low end torque and a mid-range kick going off some other posts, but if its not really worth the trouble than its something I can skip for the time being.
