Did the Canadian market Type R's get different floor mats? Those don't look like the USDM mats I have.

 

Canada got the exact same floor mats as USA.

Checkered for 97-00 and black for 2001.

I talked to this Seller several times while I was searching for my Type R. There was something about this guy and this car that just felt weird. I'm sure he'll find a buyer eventually when he gets reasonable with his pricing expectation.

 

They did not. Yes, they had checkered but the CDM ones had a heel pad while the USDM mats were just all mat.

 

What is a heel pad ?

 

Ahh I had some CDM checkers and 2001 mats and didnt realize USA checker mats were all mat.

Man I recently bought a set of USDM ITR matts and in no time I wore out that area from my heel! I wear dress shoes for work and man it ate the carpet up in no time wish mines had the pad!

 

I hate it when perfectly good mats wear out simply because of the driver's heel. I've had holes worn right through the mat because of this. I used to add metal heel protectors to my expensive mats for this very reason, I know Momo used to sell them, likely others out there, very easy to install and they will save the carpet.

 

Have you seen cars with women's high heel damage? Awful!

 

That is one reason never to buy a car that is "lady driven" lol, among other things.....

Did the US mats have a rubber backing ? Our Canadian mats were latex foam rubber that dried into powder after many years
