Default 2006 Honda Odyssey Exl with J35a swap to J30a

Hi Guys, New to the forum, I have a 2006 Honda odyssey EXL, J35a4, I down graded to a J30a because Its a cheaper alternative. My question is after installing the J30 I keep getting P0175 P1072. I adjusted the valves to specs. Is there any thing that i shouldve done when i swap the engine? Any modification from j35a4 to j30a? Any help is greatly appreciate it. Thanks .. btw the van runs good. Just need to get the engine light off.

Not possible. Your van uses a specific valvetrain that the j30 does not.

Hm, I think only thing left would the difference in cylinder. You can try an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

What do you think about me using the pressure regulator from 2004 honda accord v6 that the engine came from. Do you think thats compatible? Btw thanks for any input. I appreciate it..

Hey Tony, I just remembered that when i exchanged the water line that connects the EGR Valve, the J30A did not have an exhaust inlet. Which i have no idea why it didnt.
So my question is, would u know if i can drill the hole leading to the exhaust line? Thanks in advance

Would be pointless because the head doesn't have the opening for the egr as well. You'll just have top find a way to trick the ecu

Hey man, I'm actually having this swap done also. I have a 2006 Odyssey EX-L with the VCM that is getting the J30A swap. The shop said it was a direct bolt on, were you able to figure out the problems? Is there any other issues you ran into while doing the swap, how do you like it?
