Intermittent Fan Issues
Sup, H-T!
Today I did my water transfer pipe o-rings on my D16Y7 as well as replacing the thermostat. It was lightly raining as well but everything stayed mostly dry.
All went well and my leak stopped but now I have some fan issues.
Some info:
- Car is 1997 Civic CX 5 speed, all stock.
- Fan works when jumped at the harness
- Relay clicks and works when jumped
- Fuse is obviously okay.
- About 20% of the time, the fan will come on and all will function normally
- Sometimes when fan does work, it won't kick on until over 200 degrees.
Has new fan switch and new coolant temperature sensor.
Had a full tune-up about a month ago.
Didn't have these issues until new thermostat and water pipe job today.
Any ideas, H-T? Can a new Honda OEM fan switch start having issues so soon? Is the harness plug moisture sensitive? (lightly rained today during job)
